Gone girl

Posted on Fri Jul 16th, 2021 @ 4:34am by Plexie Natalya Petrovich

Mission: This Week's Special
Location: Somewhere on the Skyplex

Natalya let out a startled cry of surprise, catching the aerosol can before it could smack her in the face, Blue eyes flared in aggravation, narrowing as she glanced over at Zane who just smiled and turned back to the creation they were working on together. It was coming together nicely, having the two of them working on it together meant that it would be done in no time and they could move to another location or maybe go to the arcade and celebrate. Satisfied, she took a step back, the can of spray paint hanging loosely in her grasp. It was beautiful, the Axe-Tong symbol staring back at her…

That wasn’t right.

Why was she spray painting that, and with Zane? Her head felt funny, hazy, and Natalya tried to open her eyes but they felt heavy. It was like her own body didn’t want to listen to her, didn’t want to wake as it floated along in the semi-conscious dream state. And her mouth was so gorram dry as she tried to swallow, wince at the rough feel in the throat. A groan slipped from her and a chill from the metal floor started to creep into her. Sheesh… it was hard and it was making her feel achy. She tried to move, to find a more comfortable position so she could go back to sleep, but she couldn’t. Again she tried, but her legs felt as if they had been glued together. And her arms? They moved, but only inches. She twisted her wrists, wincing as they started to burn, jerking her awake finally. But why wouldn’t her eye work! Her heart caught skipping and started to pound in her chest as if it would burst free and she realized there was something over eyes. It only gave the young girl a small reprieve, though, as she realized the reality of her situation, the memory of someone grabbing her as she’d headed to work, and a sickly sweet smell and then nothing.

Wou Duh Tian Ah. She hadn’t made it to work. Did they know she was missing? A tear slipped down her cheek as she realized her father had to be worried. Surely he didn’t think she’d just skipped her shift to go do whatever. Natalya screamed, or tried to, the sound muffled by the tape covering her mouth.

Ta Ma Duh!

Think, think. She had to think. Had to calm down and think of some way she could get out of this. Because she had to get out of this- her thoughts cut off as a sound caught her ears, her dark head tilted to the side as she struggled to listen. It was faint, barely there but steadily growing louder, but yet… still faint almost as if whoever it was didn’t want to be heard. A creaking sound of metal on metal grated her ears making her cringe as she tried to scoo backwards. But since she was lying half on her side all her struggles were in vain.

The voice was low as it rang through the silence, “You’re awake. Good.” low, but not soft. There was a harshness to it that demanded compliance without trying. But try as she might, and she tried, Nat couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. Another muffled scream sounded through the tape at her mouth as hands grabbed her, dragging her until she was sitting up, her back resting against something hard and cold. “Now.” The low, cold voice started, “I’ve water for you. Can you be a good girl and not scream if I take the tape off?” Natalya nodded. But like hell she wasn’t screaming. She jerked as a hand touched her face, stroking down her cheek, “Such a pretty little thing. Daddy should really take better care of you.” And then the tape was gone. Nat sucked in a breath, “Help!”

Her cheek stung as her face was slapped, a hand gripping her hair and yanking her until she felt his breath brushing against her ear as he spoke. “If you want to scream, I have ways to help.”The voice said, a hint of desire creeping out that made Natalya’s skin crawl and she shook her head, her body starting to shake. He laughed and released her, her back hitting the wall, at least she thought it was a wall, so hard it made her wince. “Good girl. Drink.” But she only got a few sips, barely enough to relieve the dryness in her mouth before he took it away and the tape was pressed down on her mouth again and he left without a word. Silent tears rolled down her face as she turned and leaned her head against the cool metal wall. Where washe her father? Her brothers? Her uncle. Surely they had to know she was missing.
