| General Overview | Mara is, on the surface, suspicious. She does not trust strangers and it takes a long time for her to consider you a friend. But once she does, she is fiercely loyal and almost aggressively friendly. An extreme introvert, Mara avoids social situations that involve more than two other people as often as possible. Her favorite type of social interaction is one-on-one. Even though she is quiet, she can provide good conversation and is a fantastic listener. |

| Personal History | Mara was born on Appolyon- a mid size trader ship- to two doctors. She never questioned how her parents- who were citizens of an Alliance world- ended up on a small trader ship in the rim until she was old enough not to care. She still has not found an answer. Her early life was spent trying to keep herself occupied while the adults worked. She wasn’t always allowed to get off the ship when they visited planets, so her interactions with children were very limited. It wasn’t until she was eight years old that another child joined the ship. His name was Remi and he thought Mara was very strange- which she was, having been raised primarily around adults. They did not get along. The ship managed to avoid getting in the way during the war until near the end of it when they were caught in the crossfire. They attempted to escape, but most of the ship’s crew were killed. The only survivors were Mara, Remi, and the ship’s engineer, Misha Leatherwood. Misha managed to get them safely to a planet where they were able to bury the dead and work on repairs to the ship. He taught Mara and Remi a lot about engineering and both soon found they had a knack for it. Over the next two years, they were planet bound while they repaired the ship and found a new crew. Remi and Mara actually became friends during this time and soon became inseparable. Misha teased them a lot by asking when the wedding was, but they did not take him seriously. When the ship was ready to fly, it was with Misha as the captain and Mara and Remi as engineers. Over the next few years, Mara and Remi’s friendship grew and by the time they reached 20 years of age, they were engaged. But it wouldn’t last. A terrible accident on the ship took Remi’s life. Unable to cope, Mara left the Appolyon- the only home she’d ever known- and spent the next several years hopping from ship to ship until she happened onto Green Leaf station and the opportunity for something big practically fell into her lap. |
