Personal History Hank was born on Persephone to a leading physician at the top hospital in the Capital City. Hank was quite intelligent, as was his older brother Maximus. They progressed through school quickly and had grown into young men who had great aptitude for their chosen fields. Maximus wanted to follow in their father's footsteps and become a doctor. Hank, on the other hand, loved the idea of making money as an entrepreneur. There were several members of their extended family involved in various businesses, all of the successful to varying degrees. Hank had a yearning.

Then all hell broke loose and the Unification War set life to ruin. All of Hank's family were strong and staunch supporters of the Alliance, but Hank couldn't see any moral right for one person to force another to live under their rule. He was quite vocal about it and his father eventually kicked him out and cut him off. Hank ended up joining those he was sympathetic towards and found himself in the ranks of the Independent armed forces. Upon hearing of his enlistment, Hank's mother passed and after only a short time, his father remarried. Over the years, Hank faught valiantly with the independents. His valor and leadership aptitude granted him a low ranking officer spot by the war's end, but as historytells, the Independents lost. Though he'd lost touch with his family, he'd heard that his father and brother had also passed, but it was under mysterious and unexplained circumstances. He'd tried to investigate, but Alliance officials stonewalled him.

With no one left at home and no real money to speak of, he needed work. Hank ended up finding a job as a hired gun on a shipping freighter. The freighter captain was reasonably well known and had a good bit of work flowing his way, which meant a steady income for Hank. It wasn't a lot, but it was enough to work up the proverbial bankroll. After a few years, Hank became the Captain's first mate. He'd learned enough after all and was rather effective in a gunfight. And then of course, there was the charm. Along with his work, Hank was also an avid poker player. While playing quite a bit for himself, Hank also played with the Captain backing him. Anytime they made port, once work was done, it was time to play, and poker was Hank's play of choice. During his time on the Captain's crew, he'd amassed a small fortune, enough that when the Captain had decided to retire, Hank bought his ship off of him and continued the shipping business. He'd made a lot of friends over the years, so work wasn't really hard to come by. He could afford a good crew and rarely had any issues. He also had eyes toward expansion once the money was there. Hank ended up purchasing a second and third cargo ship to take on larger hauls. That's where the money was after all.

Eventually, Hank found himself shipping in and out of Greenleaf Skyplex quite a bit and set up shop there. He opened a bar and card room that became quite popular and still runs the shipping business, albeit from the plex.
